Terms of Use
1. Scope
These Guest Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to the Local Way Korea website and participation in tours, experiences, and related services operated directly by Local Way Korea (“we,” “us,” “our”). By booking or joining any tour (“Experience”), you agree to these Terms.
2. Our Services
-
We operate private, small-group, guided Experiences in Korea.
-
Each Experience page specifies inclusions/exclusions, meeting point & time, duration, group size, and price.
-
For safety, weather, traffic, venue rules, or operational reasons we may make immaterial changes (order/route/venue of equivalent value) without altering the overall nature of the Experience.
3. Eligibility & Conduct
-
Guests must be 18+ (minors must be accompanied by a paying adult).
-
You must follow the guide’s safety instructions. We may refuse or remove any participant who is late, intoxicated, disruptive, abusive, or unsafe; no refund in such cases.
4. Booking, Price & Payment
-
A booking is confirmed only after full payment and our written confirmation. Unpaid requests may auto-cancel.
-
Accepted payment methods are shown at checkout (e.g., credit/debit via Stripe or PayPal).
-
Prices are in the stated currency and include VAT where applicable.
-
Receipts can be issued upon request. Tax invoices are issued only where legally required.
-
You must provide accurate contact details and review your confirmation immediately.
5. Group Size & Additional Guests
-
The confirmed price is based on the number of participants stated on your voucher/confirmation.
-
Unannounced additional guests are not permitted. Any change in headcount requires our prior written approval and may change the price. Unapproved extra guests may be refused; this may be treated as partial/total no-show without refund.
6. Cancellations, Changes & Refunds (Default Policy)
(Local time at the Experience location; email timestamp when received by us controls.)
-
Cancel ≥ 8 days before meeting time: 100% refund (Charge 0%).
-
Cancel 3–7 days before: 50% refund (Charge 50%).
-
Cancel ≤ 2 days (≤48h) before or No-show: No refund (Charge 100%).
Additional rules
-
Late arrival ≥ 15 minutes after meeting time may be treated as no-show (no refund).
-
Rescheduling is subject to availability and any price difference; original terms continue to apply until we confirm the change in writing.
-
Refunds are returned to the original payment method. Payment processor fees, currency conversion differences, bank charges, and non-recoverable 3rd-party costs (e.g., pre-purchased tickets, venue fees) may be deducted.
-
A product page may specify a different policy; that specific policy controls for that product.
7. Force Majeure
If performance is impossible or unsafe due to events beyond our control (e.g., severe weather, natural disasters, major transport disruption, strikes, government actions), we will first try to reschedule. If rescheduling is not possible, we may provide a partial or full refund at our reasonable discretion after deducting non-recoverable costs.
8. Third-Party Components
Some Experiences include third-party venues, tastings, transit, or tickets. Their own rules (entry, age, security, photography) apply. If a third party alters access or schedules, we may provide an equivalent substitution or route adjustment.
9. Health, Accessibility & Insurance
-
Walking Experiences may involve uneven surfaces, stairs, or weather exposure. If you have health or mobility concerns, please inform us before booking so we can advise suitability or adapt where feasible.
-
We strongly recommend personal travel insurance (medical, personal liability, cancellations/delays).
10. Liability & Limits
-
You accept that urban walking, tastings, and public-space activities have inherent risks.
-
We are not liable for loss, damage, injury, or expenses arising from your negligence, failure to follow instructions, pre-existing conditions, theft in public areas, or acts/omissions of third parties.
-
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to an Experience is limited to the amount you paid to us for that Experience.
11. Content, Media & IP
-
Site content (text, images, logos) is our intellectual property; no reproduction without permission.
-
Guest media usage: If you opt-in (written or in-app consent), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your shared photos/reviews for marketing. You may withdraw consent by email; prior published materials may remain in archive copies.
12. Privacy
We collect and process personal data only as necessary to provide services and communicate with you. See our Privacy Policy (link on site) for details on what we collect, retention, security, and your rights.
13. Prohibited Uses (Website)
No scraping, automated access, security breaches, or commercial resale/brokering of our private tours without written consent.
14. Changes to Terms & Services
We may update these Terms or Experience details to meet operational, safety, or legal requirements. The version in force at the time of booking applies to that booking. Material changes will be posted on the site.
15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court.
16. Entire Agreement & Severability
These Terms, together with the Experience description and your confirmation, are the entire agreement. If any provision is invalid, the remainder stays effective; a valid term with similar intent will replace the invalid part where permitted.
